ルカによる福音書第３章（欽定訳）

３章

1.　さて、ティベリウス・カエサル統治の第１５年目でポンテオ・ピラトがユダヤの総督であり、ヘロデがガリラヤの（四分轄）領主[1]、そして、彼の兄弟フィリップがイツリヤとトラコニツ地方の（四分轄）領主、またルサニアスがアビレネの（四分轄）領主であり、

2.　アンナスとカヤファスとが大祭司であった時、天の神のお言葉が、荒野にいたあのザカリアスの息子、ヨハネに臨みました。

3.　そして、彼はヨルダンの周辺のすべての地方に入って行って、諸々の罪の赦しのためにバプテスマを説教していました。

4.　それは、預言者イザヤの書に書いてあるとおりです。そこには、こう言っています。「荒野で人が叫んでいる。『主の道を備えよ。彼の諸々の道をまっすぐにせよ。』と

5.　すべての谷は満たされる。また、あらゆる山と岡は低くされ、諸々の曲った部分はまっすぐにされる。そして、諸々の荒れた道は平らにされる。

6.　また、すべての肉なる者は、天の神の救いを見る。」

7.　その時、彼は、彼からバプテスマを受けようとして出てきた群衆に言いました。「毒蛇の子ら！だれがあなたがたに、来るべき恐ろしい怒りから逃れるようにと警告したのですか？

8.　だから、悔い改めに値する諸々の実を結びなさい。そして、あなたがた自身で『私たちは、アブラハムを私たちの父として持っている。』などと、言い始めないようにしなさい。私はあなたがたに言います。天の神はアブラハムの子供たちを、これらの石ころからでも起すことができるからです。

9.　その上、今でさえ斧が木々の根に置かれていて、良い実がならない木々は、切り倒されて、火の中に投げ込まれています。」

10.　そこで、群衆は彼に尋ねて言いました。「それでは、私たちはどうすればよいのですか？」

11.　彼は、彼らに答えて言いました。「チューニックを二着持っている人は、持っていない人にあげなさい。また、食べ物を持っている人も同じようにしなさい。」

12.　その時、徴税請負人たちも、バプテスマを受けようとして来て彼に言いました。「先生、私たちはどうすればいいですか？」

13.　すると、彼は彼らに言いました。「指定されているよりたくさん集金しないように。」

14.　同じように、兵士たちも彼に尋ねて言いました。「それでは、私たちはどうすればいいですか？」そこで彼は彼らに言いました。「怖がらせたり嘘の言いがかりをつけないように。そして、自分の給料で満足していなさい。」

15.　さて、ヨハネについて、彼がキリストではないのだろうかとその人々は期待していたし、また皆は心の中でそう想っていました。

16.　ヨハネは皆に答えて言いました。「私はこの通り、水であなたがたにバプテスマをしています。けれども、私よりも力のあるお方が来ようとしています。私は彼のサンダルの紐をほどいて差し上げる値打ちもありません。彼はあなたがたに聖霊と火とによってバプテスマをなさいます。

17.　彼のふるい用のうちわが、その手にあります。そして、彼は彼の脱穀場の床を完全にきれいになさいます。また、麦はご自分の倉庫に入れますが、殻は消えることのない火で焼かれます。」

18.　また、彼は、他にも多くの勧めを人々に説教しました。

19.　しかし、（四分轄）領主ヘロデは、彼から自分（彼）の兄弟フィリップの妻ヘロデアスのことと、また、ヘロデがしてきたあらゆる悪について咎められていたが、

20.　彼はヨハネを牢に投獄してこれに加えました。

21.　全ての人々がバプテスマを受けていた時、イエスもバプテスマをお受けになりました。そして、彼が祈っておられる間、天が開かれていました。

22.　すると、聖霊が鳩に似た体で彼の上にくだられ、また、天から声があって、こう仰せられました。「おまえは私の愛する子だ。私はおまえに完全に満足している。」

23.　さて、イエス御自身は、ご自分の職務を開始されたのは約３０歳でしたが、彼は次のように考えられていました。

32.　イェッセの子、オベデの子、ボアズの子、サルモンの子、ナァソンの子、

33.　アミナダブの子、ラムの子、ヘズロンの子、ペレズの子、ユダの子、

34.　ヤコブの子、イサックの子、アブラハムの子、テラの子、ナホルの子、

35.　セルグの子、レウの子、ペレグの子、エベルの子、セラの子、

36.　カイナンの子、アルファクサドゥの子、セムの子、ノアの子、ラメクの子、

37.　メスセラーの子、エノクの子、ヤレドゥの子、マハラレルの子、カイナンの子、

38.　エノスの子、セツの子、アダムの子、天の神の子です。

  Luke 3
Luk 3:1  And in the fifteenth year of the government of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the Trachonitus country, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene--
Luk 3:2  Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests-- the Word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
Luk 3:3  And he came into all the country around Jordan, proclaiming the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins,
Luk 3:4  as it is written in the book of the Words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.
Luk 3:5  Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low, and the crooked shall be straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth.
Luk 3:6  And all flesh shall see the salvation of God."
Luk 3:7  Then he said to the crowd that came forth to be baptized by him, O generation of vipers! Who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Luk 3:8  Therefore bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father. For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
Luk 3:9  And now also the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bring forth good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
Luk 3:10  And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
Luk 3:11  He answered and said to them, He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. And he who has food, let him do likewise.
Luk 3:12  And tax-collectors also came to be baptized and said to him, Teacher, what shall we do?
Luk 3:13  And he said to them, Continue to do no more than that commanded to you.
Luk 3:14  And the soldiers also asked of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said to them, Do not forcibly extort anyone, nor accuse any falsely. And be content with your wages.
Luk 3:15  And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts concerning John, lest perhaps he was the Christ,
Luk 3:16  John answered all, saying, I indeed baptize you with water, but He who is mightier than I comes, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to loose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire,
Luk 3:17  whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor and will gather the wheat into His storehouse. But He will burn the chaff with unquenchable fire.
Luk 3:18  And then indeed exhorting many things, he proclaimed the gospel to the people.
Luk 3:19  But Herod the tetrarch (being reproved by him on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done)
Luk 3:20  added still this above all, that he even shut John up in prison.
Luk 3:21  And it happened in the baptizing of all the people, Jesus also being baptized, and praying, and the heaven was opened.
Luk 3:22  And the Holy Spirit came down in a bodily shape, like a dove on Him. And a voice came from Heaven, which said, You are My Son, the Beloved; I am delighted in You.
Luk 3:23  And Jesus Himself was beginning to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) son of Joseph, son of of Heli,
Luk 3:24  son of of Matthat, son of of Levi, son of of Melchi, son of of Janna, son of of Joseph,
Luk 3:25  son of of Mattathias, son of of Amos, son of of Nahum, son of of Esli, son of of Naggai,
Luk 3:26  son of of Maath, son of of Mattathias, son of of Semei, son of of Joseph, son of of Juda,
