１４章

1.　ところで、彼が安息日にファリサイ派の指導者たちの一人の家に、食事をするために入って行かれた時、彼らは彼をじっと見ていました。

2.　すると、見よ、全身が浮腫で覆われている男性が彼の前にいました。

3.　イエスは、律法学者たちに答えて、こう仰せられました。『安息日に、いやしをすることは、法にかなっているか？』

4.　しかし、彼らは黙っていました。彼は彼を連れて行って、癒し、そして、彼を行かせられました。

5.　それから、彼は彼らに答えて仰せられました。「あなたがたのうちの誰かが、ロバか雄牛を持っていて、それが穴に落ちたなら、安息日にも、すぐにそれをひきあげてやらないか？」

6.　しかし、これらの事について、彼らは誰も彼に答えることができませんでした。

7.　さて、彼が、彼らが最も良い場所を選ぶのかを気付かれた時、彼は一つのたとえを、招かれている人々に、こう語られました。

8.　「あなたが誰かに結婚の宴に招かれている時、一番良い席には着かないようにしなさい。あなたよりも高貴な人が、彼に招かれているかもしれない。

9.　すると、あなたと彼を招待した人が来て、あなたに言う『この人に席を譲ってあげて下さい』と。その時、あなたは恥じ入って、一番低い席につくからだ。

10.　しかし、あなたが招待されたら、行って一番低い場所につきなさい。そうすると、あなたを招待した人が来て、あなたに言う『友よ、もっと高い席におつきください』。その時あなたはあなたと一緒に席に着いている人々の中で誉をえるから。

11.　誰で、自分を高める人は卑しめられ、そして、自分を（彼自身を）低くする人は高くされるからだ。」

12.　その時、彼はまた自分を招いていた人（彼）に仰せられました。「あなたが晩餐か夕食に招待する時、あなたの友人たちや、あなたの兄弟たち、あなたの親戚たち、また、金持ちの隣人たちに頼まないようにしなさい。そうしないと、彼らはあなたを招待し返して、あなたは報われてしまう。

13.　しかし、あなたが宴を設けるときには、貧しい人たちや、体の不自由な人たち、足の悪い人たち、目の見えない人たちを招待しなさい。

14.　そうすれば（そして）、あなたは祝福される。彼らはあなたに報い返すことができないからだ。そして、あなたは義人の復活の時には報われる。」

15.　ところで、彼と一緒にその食卓についていた人々の一人がこれらの事を聞いた時、彼は彼に言いました。「幸いなのは、天の神の王国で食事をする人です！」

16.　その時、彼は彼に仰せられました。「ある人が大いなる晩餐会を催して多くの人を招待した。

17.　そして、彼の僕をその晩餐会の時に送って招待されていた人々に言わせた。『来てください。今やすべての準備が出来ました。』

18.　しかし、彼らは皆一致して言い訳をし始めた。最初の人は彼に言った。『私は一区画の土地を買いました。それで行って見てこなければなりません。ご容赦ください。』

19.　また、次のものは言った。『私は５くびきの雄牛を買ったのです。それで（そして）それらを試しに行こうとしています。失礼をお許しください。』

20.　また、他の人は言った。『私は妻と結婚しました。だから、行けません。』

21.　そこで、その僕は来てこれらのことを、彼の主人に報告した。その時その家の主人は、腹を立て、彼の僕に言った。『すぐに町の諸々の通りと小道に出て行きなさい。そしてあの貧しい人たちや体の悪い人たちや、足の悪い人たちや、目の見えない人たちをここに連れてきなさい。』

22.　すると、その僕は言った。「ご主人様、あなた様がお命じになったようにしました。でも、まだ席がございます。」

23.　その時、その主人はその僕に言った。『大通りや生垣の所に出て行きなさい。そして、彼らを無理やりにでも連れて来て、私の家が一杯になるようにしなさい。

24.　私はおまえに言う。招待されていた人々で、私の晩餐を味わう者は誰もいないからだ。』」

25.　さて、大勢の群衆が彼と一緒にいました。そこで、彼は振り返って彼らに仰せられました。

26.　「もし、誰かが私の所に来て、自分の（彼の）父、母、妻、また子供たち、兄弟たち、そして、姉妹たちを憎まないなら、そうだ、その上、自分自身の命でさえも憎まないなら、彼は私の弟子でいることはできない。

27.　また、誰でも自分の（彼の）十字架を背負わないで私の後についてくるなら、私の弟子でいることはできない。

28.　あなたがたの誰でも、塔を建てようとして、まず座って、それを立て終えるのに十分あるかどうかを計算しないだろうか。

29.　そうしないと、彼はその基礎を置いてから完成できないので、見ている皆は彼を嘲り始めて、

30.　こう言う。『この男は建て始めたが、完成できなかった』と。

31.　また、どの王が、他の王と戦争をしようとしているのに、まず座って彼と共にいる一万人をもって、二万人で彼に向かってくる者と会戦できるかどうか、よく考えないのか？

32.　もし、そうでなければ、他の王がまだ、ずっと遠くにいる間に、彼は代表団を送って和平の調停を求めることになる。

33.　だから、同じように、あなたがたの誰でも、もっているものを、すべてを捨て去らなければ、私の弟子でいることはできない。

34.　塩は良いものだ。しかし、もし塩がその味を失ってしまったら、どうやって味付けするのか？

35.　それは、土地にも、たい肥にもできないので、人々はそれを投げ捨てる。聞くために両耳がある人は聞きなさい！」

Luke 14
Luk 14:1  And as He went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, it happened that they watched Him.
Luk 14:2  And behold, a certain man was dropsical before Him.
Luk 14:3  And answering, Jesus spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
Luk 14:4  And they were silent. And taking him, He healed him and let him go.
Luk 14:5  And He answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fall into a pit and will not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?
Luk 14:6  And they could not answer Him again as to these things.
Luk 14:7  And He put forth a parable to those who were invited, when He noted how they chose out the chief places, saying to them,
Luk 14:8  When you are invited by anyone to a wedding, do not recline in the chief seat, lest a more honorable man than you may be invited by him.
Luk 14:9  And he who invited you and him shall come and say to you, Give place to this man; and then you begin with shame to take the last place.
Luk 14:10  But when you are invited, go and recline in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may say to you, Friend, go up higher. Then glory shall be to you before those reclining with you.
Luk 14:11  For whoever exalts himself shall be abased, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.
Luk 14:12  And He also said to him who invited Him, When you make a dinner or a supper, do not call your friends or your brothers, or your kinsmen, or your rich neighbors; lest they also invite you again, and a recompense be made to you.
Luk 14:13  But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind,
Luk 14:14  and you shall be blessed, for they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.
Luk 14:15  And one of those who reclined with Him heard these things, and he said to Him, Blessed are those eating bread in the kingdom of God.
Luk 14:16  And He said to him, A certain man made a great supper and invited many.
Luk 14:17  And he sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, Come, for all things are now ready.
Luk 14:18  And all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, I must go and see it. I beg you, have me excused.
Luk 14:19  And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I beg you, have me excused.
Luk 14:20  And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
Luk 14:21  And coming up that servant reported these things to his lord. And the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and the maimed, and the lame and the blind.
Luk 14:22  And the servant said, Lord, it is done as you have commanded, and still there is room.
Luk 14:23  And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled.
Luk 14:24  For I say to you that none of these men who were invited shall taste of my supper.
Luk 14:25  And great crowds went with Him. And He turned and said to them,
Luk 14:26  If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
Luk 14:27  And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me, he cannot be My disciple.
Luk 14:28  For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he may have enough to finish it;
Luk 14:29  lest perhaps, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all those seeing begin to mock him,
Luk 14:30  saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish.
Luk 14:31  Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not first sit down and consult whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
Luk 14:32  Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.
Luk 14:33  So then, everyone of you who does not forsake all his possessions, he cannot be My disciple.
Luk 14:34  Salt is good, but if the salt has become tasteless, with what shall it be seasoned?
Luk 14:35  It is not fit for the land, nor for manure, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
