２３章
1. それから、群衆は皆立ち上がり、彼をピラトの所に連行しました。
2. そして、彼らは彼を訴え始めて、こう言いました。「私たちはこの男がこの国を惑わし、またカエサルに税を納めることを禁じ、彼が、自分自身を王なるキリストだと言っているのを見ました」
3. その時、ピラトは彼にこう言いました。「お前はユダヤの王なのか？」彼は彼に答えて仰せられました。「あなたの言うとおりである。」
4. そこで、ピラトは、祭司の長たちと群衆とに言いました。「私には、この男に落ち度が見当たらない。」
5. しかし、彼らはますます荒々しくなって、こう言いました。「彼は人々を扇動して、ユダヤ全地に、ガリラヤからここにまで教えています。」
6. ピラトはガリラヤの事を聞いたので、もしかして、彼がガリラヤ出身なのかと尋ねました。
7. 彼は、彼がヘロデの管轄に属しているのを知るとすぐに、ピラト（彼）は、彼をその時エルサレムに来ていたヘロデのもとに送りました。
8. さて、ヘロデはイエスに会って、彼は大いに喜びました。彼は長い間彼に会いたいと切望していたのです。彼が、彼についての多くのことを聞いていたので、彼は彼が何かの奇跡をするのを見たいと願っていたからです。
9. その時、彼は彼に多くの事を言って質問したが、彼は何も彼にお答えにならなりませんでした。
10. そして、祭司の長たちや律法学者たちは立って猛烈に彼の罪を訴えました。
11. そこで、ヘロデは自分の（彼の）兵士たちと一緒になって、彼を侮辱し、嘲ってから彼に豪華な衣服を着せ、それから、彼をピラトに送り返しました。
12. その日、ピラトとヘロデとは互いに親しくなりました。というのは、彼らは以前には、互いに反目しあっていたのです。
13. それから、ピラトは祭司の長たち、民の司たちと民とを呼び集め、
14. 彼らに言いました。「お前たちはこの男を、民を惑わす者として私のところに連れてきた。そこで、実際にお前たちの前で審査したが、私には、彼にお前たちが訴えている事について、何の落ち度も見当たらない。
14. そうだ、ヘロデもそうだ。私はお前たちを彼の所に送った。そして、事実、死に値するように事は何も彼はしていない。
16. だから、私は彼をむち打ちにして、釈放する。
17.（というのは、彼は祭りの時には、彼らに一人を釈放してやる必要があったのです。）
18. しかし、彼らは皆すぐに絶叫して、こう言いました。「この男は取り除いて。そして、私たちにバラバを釈放してください。」
19. その人は、この都市であった、暴動と殺人とのために獄に入れられていました。
20. ピラトはイエスを釈放したかったので、もう一度彼らに声をかけました。
21. しかし、彼らは叫んで言いました。「十字架だ、彼は、十字架だ、彼を！」
22. それから彼は彼らに三度めに言いました。「どうして。彼がどんな悪事をした？私は彼を殺す理由が何も見あたらない。だから、私は彼に鞭を打ってから行かせることにする。」
23. しかし、彼らは執拗で、大声で彼を十字架につけるように要求しつづけました。そして、それらの人々と、祭司長たちの声が勝ちました。
24. そこで、ピラトは彼らの要求したようにされるようにと判決を下しました。
25. それから、彼は彼らに彼らが求めていた男を釈放しました。その男は、暴動と殺人とのために牢に投げ込まれていた者でしたが、彼はイエスを彼らの願うように渡したのです。
26. ところで、彼らは彼を連れ去ったが、彼らは一人の人、クレネ人のシモンをつかまえました。彼は国から来ていた所でしたが、彼らはその男（彼）にイエスの後に十字架を負わせて行かせたのです。
27. そして、非常に大勢の人々が彼について行き、女性たちも、悲しみ、また嘆きながら彼について行きました。
28. しかし、イエスは彼らを振り返って仰せられました。「エルサレムの娘たち、私のために泣いてはいけない。あなたがた自身と、あなたがたの子供たちのために泣きなさい。
29. 実に、彼らが『妊娠していない腹と、産まなかった胎、またふくませなかった胸は良い』という日が来ているからだ。
30. その時、彼らは諸々の山に向かって、『我々の上に倒れよ』と言い、また諸々の丘に向かって、『我々を覆え』と言い始める。
31. もし、これらの事が生木にされるなら、枯れ木には何がされるだろうか？」
32. そこには、他に二人の犯罪者が彼と一緒に死刑に処せられるために連行されていました。
33. そして、その時彼らはカルバリーと呼ばれている場所に来ました。そこで彼らは彼を十字架につけ、また、犯罪者たちを、一人は右に、一人は左につけました。
34. その時、イエスは仰せられました。「おとうさま、彼らをお赦しください。彼らは自分たちが、何をしているのか知っていないからです。」それから、彼らは彼の着ている物を分け、そして、くじを投げました。
35. そして、人々は立ちながら見上げていました。しかし、司たちでさえも冷笑して言いました。「彼は他人たちを救った。もし彼がキリスト、天の神に選ばれた者なら、自分自身（彼自身）を救え。」
36. 兵士たちも彼を嘲り、来て酸っぱくなったぶどう酒を彼に捧げて
37. こう言いました。「もしお前がユダヤの王なら、おまえ自身を救え。」
38. さて、彼の上にギリシャ語、ラテン語、そして、ヘブル語で「これはこのユダヤ人の王である」という碑が書き付けられてありました。
39. その時、吊るされていた犯罪者たちの一人が彼を侮辱してこう言いました。「もし、お前がキリストというなら、おまえ自身とおれたちを救え。」
40. しかし、もう一人は答えて彼をいさめて、こう言いました「お前は天の神を恐れる事もないのか。お前は同じ罪の宣告のもとにあることを考えろ。
41. そして、おれたちはまったく当り前だ。おれたちは自分がやったことの当然の罰を受けているんだから。しかし、この方は何も悪い事をしていない。」
42. その時、彼はイエスに言いました。「主よ、私を思い出して下さい。あなたがあなたの王国にお入りになる時には。」
43. すると、イエスは彼に仰せられました。「アーメン。私はあなたに言う。今日、あなたは私と一緒にパラダイスにいる。」
44. ところで、時はほとんど第六の時となっており、そして、暗黒が全地を覆って第七時にまで及んでいました。
45. その時、太陽は暗くされ、神殿の幕は真っ二つに裂けました。
46. それから、イエスは大声で叫んで仰せられました。「おとうさま、あなたの御手に私の霊を委ねます。」こう仰せになってから、彼は最後の息を引き取られました。
47. そこで、百人部隊の隊長は起こったことを見て、天の神に栄光を帰して言いました。「確かに、この方は義人だった！」
48. そして、その光景を見に集まってきたすべての群衆は、起こったことを見て、自分たちの（彼らの）胸を打ち、それから、帰って行きました。
49. しかし、彼の知り合いたちと、ガリラヤから彼について来たかの女性たちは、遠く離れて立って、これらの事を見守っていました。
50. ところで、そこにヨセフという名の人がいました。議会のメンバーで、善良で正しい人でした。
51. 彼は彼らの決定と行動には同意していませんでした。彼はユダヤの一都市の、アリマセアの出身であって、彼自身も天の神の王国を待ち望んでいたのです。
52. この人が（男性が）ピラトの所に行き、そして、イエスの体を求めました。
53. それから、彼は取り下ろされ、麻布で包まれ、そして、岩をくり抜いた墓に置かれました。そこはそれ以前には誰も納められたことがありませんでした。
54. その碑は備えの日であり、そして、安息日が近づいていました。
55. さて、彼と一緒にガリラヤから来た女性たちは、ついて行って、その墓を見、また彼がどのように置かれたかを見ました。
56. それから、彼らは、帰って香料と香油とを用意し、彼らは法に従って安息日に休みました。
Luke 23Luk 23:1 And rising up, all the multitude of them led Him before Pilate.
Luk 23:2 And they began to accuse Him, saying, We have found this one perverting the nation and forbidding them to give tribute to Caesar, saying himself to be a king, Christ.
Luk 23:3 And Pilate asked Him, saying, Are you the king of the Jews? And He answered him and said, You say it.
Luk 23:4 And Pilate said to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.
Luk 23:5 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.
Luk 23:6 And hearing Galilee, Pilate asked if the man is a Galilean.
Luk 23:7 And knowing that He belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself was also at Jerusalem at that time.
Luk 23:8 And seeing Jesus, Herod greatly rejoiced, for he had desired to see Him for a long time, because he had heard many things about Him. And he hoped to see some miracle done by Him.
Luk 23:9 And he questioned Him in many words, but He answered him nothing.
Luk 23:10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused Him.
Luk 23:11 And humiliating Him with his guardsmen, and mocking Him by putting luxurious clothing around Him, Herod sent Him again to Pilate.
Luk 23:12 And that same day Pilate and Herod became friends with one another, for before they were at enmity between themselves.
Luk 23:13 And when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
Luk 23:14 Pilate said to them, You have brought this Man to me as perverting the people. And behold, having examined Him before you, I have found no fault in this Man regarding those things of which you accuse Him;
Luk 23:15 no, nor even Herod, for I sent you to him, and lo, nothing worthy of death has been done by Him.
Luk 23:16 Therefore I will chastise Him and release Him.
Luk 23:17 (For it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast.)
Luk 23:18 And they all cried out at once, saying, Away with this One! And release to us Barabbas
Luk 23:19 (who was thrown into prison because of a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder).
Luk 23:20 And Pilate, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them.
Luk 23:21 But they cried, saying, Crucify! Crucify Him!
Luk 23:22 And he said to them the third time, Why? What evil has He done? I have found no cause of death in Him, therefore I will chastise Him and let Him go.
Luk 23:23 But they pressed on him, with loud voices, requesting that He might be crucified. And their voices and those of the chief priests prevailed.
Luk 23:24 And Pilate gave judgment that their request should be granted.
Luk 23:25 And he released to them the one who had been thrown into prison for sedition and murder, for whom they had asked. But he delivered up Jesus to their will.
Luk 23:26 And as they led Him away, they laid hold on one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country. And they laid the cross on him, that he might carry it after Jesus.
Luk 23:27 And a great multitude of people were following Him, and of women who also were bewailing and lamenting Him.
Luk 23:28 But turning to them, Jesus said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
Luk 23:29 For behold, the days are coming in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts which did not suckle.
Luk 23:30 And they shall begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! And to the hills, Cover us!
Luk 23:31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
Luk 23:32 And two others, two criminals, were led with Him to be put to death.
Luk 23:33 And when they came to the place which is called Calvary, they crucified Him and the criminals there, one on the right, and one on the left.
Luk 23:34 And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. And parting His clothing, they cast lots.
Luk 23:35 And the people stood watching. And also the rulers with them, scoffing, saying, He saved others, let Him save Himself, if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.
Luk 23:36 And coming near, the soldiers also mocked Him, and offering Him sour wine,
Luk 23:37 and saying, If You are the king of the Jews, save Yourself.
Luk 23:38 And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek and Latin and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Luk 23:39 And one of the hanged criminals blasphemed Him, saying, If you are Christ, save Yourself and us.
Luk 23:40 But answering, the other rebuked him, saying, Do you not fear God, since you are in the same condemnation.
Luk 23:41 And we indeed justly so, for we receive the due reward of our deeds, but this Man has done nothing amiss.
Luk 23:42 And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, Today you shall be with Me in Paradise.
Luk 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
Luk 23:45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in the middle.
Luk 23:46 And crying with a loud voice, Jesus said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit. And when He had said this, He breathed out the spirit.
Luk 23:47 And when the centurion saw what had been done, he glorified God, saying, Truly this Man was righteous.
Luk 23:48 And all the crowd arriving together at this sight, beholding the things happening, struck their breasts and returned.
Luk 23:49 And all those known to Him stood at a distance; and the women, those accompanying Him from Galilee, were seeing these things.
Luk 23:50 And behold, a man named Joseph, a councillor, a good man and a just one,
Luk 23:51 this one was not assenting to their counsel and deed. He was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews; and he also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
Luk 23:52 This man went to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus.
Luk 23:53 And he took it down and wrapped it in linen. And he laid it in a tomb that had been cut in the stone, in which no man had before been laid.
Luk 23:54 And that day was the Preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
Luk 23:55 And also women were following, who were accompanying Him out of Galilee, who watched the tomb, and how His body was placed.
Luk 23:56 And they returned and they prepared spices and ointment. And they rested on the sabbath day according to the commandment.
