ルカによる福音書第１６章（欽定訳）

１６章

1.　彼はまた、彼の弟子たちに仰せられました。「ある金持ちがいたが、彼にひとりの[1]執事がいた。そして、その男性が彼の財産を浪費しているという告発が彼の所にもたらされていた。

2.　そこで、彼は彼を呼び、それから、彼に言った。『私がおまえについて聞いているこのことはどうなんだ？お前の[2]仕事の[3]報告を出しなさい。もう、お前に執事をさせておけないから。』

3.　その時、その執事は心の中で言った。『どうしたらいい？私の主人は私から執事職を取り上げようとしている。私は土方はできないし、物乞いするのは恥ずかしい。

4.　分かった。こうすれば、この執事職を辞めさせられた時、彼らが私を彼らの家に受け入れてくれるだろう。』

5.　それから、彼は彼の主人の負債者たちを皆彼の所に呼び、それから、最初の者に言った。「あなたは、私の主人にいくら負債がありますか？」

6.　すると彼は言った。『油を５００樽です。』そこで彼は言った。『あなたの債権証を取りなさい。そして、すぐに座って５０と書き変えなさい。』

7.　それから、彼はもう一人を呼んで言った。『あなたはいくら借りていますか？』。すると、彼は答えた。『小麦を１００ほどです』。そこで、彼は彼に言った。『この証書を持って、８０と書き換えなさい。』

8.　そこで、主人は不正の執事を褒めた。彼が賢くやったからだ。そして、この世代の子らは、光の子らよりも[4]思慮深い。

9.　そこで、私はあなたがたに言う。あなたがた自身のために、不正の富を使ってでも友人たちを作りなさい。あなたがたが失敗したときに、彼らがあなたがたを永遠の家に迎え入れてくれるように。

10.　最小のものに[5]忠実な人は、多くのことでも忠実だ。そして、最小のことに[6]不正な人は、多くのことにも正しくない。

11.　だから、もし、[7]あなたがたが不正の富に忠実ではないなら、誰があなたがたに諸々の真の富を任せてくれるだろうか？

12.　また、もしあなたがたが他人のものに忠実でないなら、誰があなたがた自身のものを与えるだろうか？

13.　どんな僕でも、二人の主人に使えていることは出来ない。なぜなら、彼は一人を憎んで、他方を愛し、一方に忠実なら、他方を軽んじる。あなたがたは神にも富（マンモン）にも仕えていることはできない。」

14.　ところで、金を愛している、ファリサイ派の人々がこの事を皆聞いて、彼をあざ笑いました。

15.　そこで、彼は彼らに仰せられました。｢あなたがたは、人の前で自分自身（あなたがた自身）を正しいとしている。しかし、天の神はあなたがたの心をご存知であられる。なぜなら、人の間でより高く評価されていることは、天の神の見る所では嫌悪されている。

16.　法と預言者たちはヨハネまでだ。その時以来、天の神の王国は宣教されてきた。そして、皆はそれに押し合いながら入っている。

17.　しかし、天と地とが過ぎ去るほうが、法の小さな点一つが落ちるよりもた易い。

18.　だれでも、彼の妻を離婚して、他の者と結婚しているなら、姦淫をしている。また、だれでも夫から離婚している女性と結婚しているなら、その人は姦淫をしている。

19.　ある金持ちが紫色の最高級の麻布性の着物を着ていた。そして、毎日贅沢に暮らしていた。

20.　しかし、そこにラザロという乞食がいて、体中ただれていた。彼はその金持ちの門のところにいて、

21.　その金持ちの食卓から落ちてくるくずを食べたいと願っていた。その上、犬どもがやって来て、彼のただれをなめていた。

22.　しばらくして、その乞食は死んだ。すると、御使いたちによって、アブラハムの懐に連れて行かれた。その金持ちもまた死んだ。そして、葬られた。

23.　それから、黄泉（ハデス）で苦悩しながら、彼が目を上げてみると、はるかかなたにアブラハムが見えた。すると、ラザロが彼の懐にいた。

24.　その時、彼は叫び声を上げ、そして、言った。『お父様、アブラハム様、私を哀れんでください。ラザロを指先に水をつけて、私のところに送ってください。そして、私の舌を冷やしてください。私はこの炎の中で苦悩しておりますから。』

25.　しかし、アブラハムは言った。『息子よ、おまえが生きている時に、おまえは諸々の良いものを受けたことを思い出しなさい。そして、ラザロは諸々の悪い物を受けていた。しかし、今は、彼は慰められ、そして、おまえは苦しみ悶えている。

26.　また、この全ての上に、私たちとおまえとの間には、深淵が仕組まれていて、ここからおまえの所に行くことが出来ないし、そこにいる人々が、それを超えて私たちの所にくることもできない。』

27.　その時、彼は言った。『それなら、お父さま、お願いです。あなたが彼を私の父の家に送ってください。

28.　私には五人の兄弟がいます。ラザロが（彼が）彼らに証しをして、彼らもまたこの苦しみ悩む場所に来ないようにして下さい。』

29.　アブラハムは彼に言った。『彼らにはモーセと預言者たちがいる。彼らは、その人たちに聞けばよい。』

30.　しかし、彼は言った。『いいえ、アブラハムお父さま、この死から誰かが彼らの所に言ってくれたら、彼らは悔い改めましょう。』

31.　しかし、彼は彼に言った。『もし、彼らがモーセや預言者たちに聞かないなら、この死からよみがえった人からでも、聞きはしない。』

Luke 16
Luk 16:1  And He also said to His disciples, There was a certain rich man who had a steward. And he was accused to him, that he had wasted his goods.
Luk 16:2  And he called him and said to him, What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you may no longer be steward.
Luk 16:3  And the steward said within himself, What shall I do? For my lord is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg.
Luk 16:4  I know what I will do, so that when I am put out of the stewardship they may receive me into their houses.
Luk 16:5  So he called every one of his lord's debtors and said; to the first, How much do you owe my lord?
Luk 16:6  And he said, A hundred baths of oil. And he said to him, Take your bill and sit down quickly and write fifty.
Luk 16:7  And he said to another, And how much do you owe? And he said, A hundred cors of wheat. And he said to him, Take your bill and write eighty.
Luk 16:8  And the unjust steward's lord commended him because he had done wisely. For the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
Luk 16:9  And I say to you, Make friends by the mammon of unrighteousness for yourselves, so that when you fail, they may receive you into everlasting dwellings.
Luk 16:10  He who is faithful in the least is also faithful in much. And he who is unjust in the least is also unjust in much.
Luk 16:11  Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust the true riches to you?
Luk 16:12  And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who shall give you that which is your own?
Luk 16:13  No servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
Luk 16:14  And being money-lovers, all the Pharisees also heard all these things. And they derided Him.
Luk 16:15  And He said to them, You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Luk 16:16  The Law and the Prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God is proclaimed, and everyone is pressing into it.
Luk 16:17  And it is easier for the heaven and earth to pass than for one tittle of the Law to fail.
Luk 16:18  Everyone putting away his wife and marrying another commits adultery; and everyone marrying her who is put away from her husband commits adultery.
Luk 16:19  There was a certain rich man who was customarily clothed in purple and fine linen and making merry in luxury every day.
Luk 16:20  And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, who was laid at his gate, full of sores
Luk 16:21  and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. But even the dogs came and licked his sores.
Luk 16:22  And it happened that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich one also died and was buried.
Luk 16:23  And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luk 16:24  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.
Luk 16:25  But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things. But now he is comforted and you are tormented.
Luk 16:26  And besides all this, there is a great chasm fixed between you and us; so that they desiring to pass from here to you cannot, nor can they pass over to us from there.
Luk 16:27  And he said, I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house,
Luk 16:28  for I have five brothers, so that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
Luk 16:29  Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the Prophets, let them hear them.
Luk 16:30  And he said, No, father Abraham, but if one should go to them from the dead, they would repent.
Luk 16:31  And he said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded, even though one rose from the dead.
