１２章
1. しばらくして、互いに足を踏みあうほどに、無数の人々の群がりが寄り集まってきました。 彼はまず始めに、ご自分の弟子たちに仰せられました。「ファリサイ派の人々のパン種に気をつけなさい。それは偽善なのだ。
2. 露わにされないままで覆われているものは何もない。また、知られないままで隠されているものもないからだ。
3. だから、おまえたちがその暗やみで語っていたことは、何でも、明るいところで聞かれ、また、奥まった部屋で耳元にささやいたことは、屋根の上で言い広められる。
4. また、私はおまえたちに言う。私の友たちよ、体を殺す人々を恐れてはいけない。彼らはその後は何もできない。
5. しかし、私はおまえたちに、恐れなければならない方を教えよう。この方を恐れよ。彼は殺した後に地獄に投げ込む権威を持っておられる。そうだ。私は言う。この方（彼）を恐れていなさい！
6. 五羽のすずめは銅貨二枚で売られていないか？しかし、その一羽であっても、天の神の御前で忘れられているものはない。
7. しかし、おまえたちの髪の毛でさえも、みな数えられている。だから、恐れてはいけない。おまえたちは、たくさんのすずめよりも、もっと価値がある。
8. 私はまたおまえたちに言う。誰でも人々の前で私を告白するなら、人の子もまた、私も彼を天の神の使いたちの前で告白する。
9. しかし、私を人々の前で否定する人は、天の神の使いたちの前で否定する。
10. また、誰でも人の子に敵対することを言っても、それは赦される。しかし、聖霊を冒涜するなら、彼は赦されない。
11. ところで、彼らがおまえたちをシナゴーグや行政長官たちや、当局に連行するとき、おまえたちは、何をどうやって答えようか、また、何を言えば良いのかと心配してはいけない。
12. おまえたちが語らなければならないその時には、聖霊が教えてくださるからだ。」
13. その時、群衆の一人が彼に言いました。「先生、私の兄弟に、私に遺産を分けるようにと言ってください。」
14. しかし、彼は彼に仰せられました。「人よ、誰が私をあなたの裁判官や仲裁者にしたのか？」
15. それから、彼は彼らに仰せられました。「貪欲に用心して、警戒していなさい。人の命は、彼の持ち物の豊富さにはないからだ。」
16. その時、彼は彼らに一つの譬えを語って仰せられました。「ある金持ちの地所がたっぷりと収穫できた。
17. そして、彼は心の中で考えて、こう言った。『どうしようか。（私の）収穫した物を入れておく場所がないのだが？』
18. それから、彼は言った。『私はこうしよう。私の諸々の倉庫を壊して、もっと大きいのを建てるのだ。そして、私は収穫と、財産とをそこに蓄えよう。
19. それから、私は自分の魂に言うのだ。『魂、お前の多くの年月のためにたくさん財産が蓄えてある。安心せよ。食べ、飲み、そして、陽気でいよ。』
20. しかし、天の神は彼に仰せられた。『愚かな者！今夜お前の魂は取り去られる。その時、お前が用意していた物は、誰のものになるのか？』
21. 宝を自分自身（彼自身）のためにしまいこんで、天の神に対して富んでいない人は、これと同じだ。」
22. その時彼は彼の弟子たちに仰せられました。「だから、私はおまえたちに言う。おまえたちの命のために何を食べようかと、心配するな。また、体のために何を着ようかと心配するな。
23. 命は食べ物以上のものであり、また、体は着物以上のものだ。
24. 渡りガラスのことを考えなさい。彼らは蒔く事も刈ることもしない。倉庫も納屋も持っていない。それなのに、天の神は彼らを養っておられる。おまえたちは、その諸々の鳥よりもずっと価値があるのではないか？
25. また、おまえたちのうちの誰が悩んだからといって、自分の（彼の）身長を一キュビット増やす事ができるのか？
26. もし、そんな一番小さなことでさえも出来ないなら、どうして他の事で心配するのか？
27. あの諸々のユリのことを考えてみなさい。彼らはどうやって育つのか。彼らは骨折って働く事も、紡ぐこともない。私はおまえたちに言う。栄華の絶頂の時のソロモンでさえ、それらの一つほどにも着飾ってはいなかった。
28. そこで、もし、天の神が、今日は野にあるが、明日には炉に投げ入れられる、草でさえも装って下さっているなら、どうしてもっとおまえたちを装って下さらないだろうか、ああ、おまえたち小さな信仰者たちよ？
29. そして、おまえたちは、何を食べるべきか、何を飲むべきかと捜し求めてはならない。また、心を悩ましていてはならない。
30. これらすべてのことは、この世界の諸々の国家が追求しているからだ。
31. しかし、天の神の王国を捜し求めていなさい。そうすれば、それらの物はすべて加えておまえたちに与えられる。
32. 恐れるな、小さな群れよ。おまえたちの天の父は、おまえたちに、心から喜んで王国を下さるからだ。
33. [1]おまえたちの持ち物を売り、そして、貧しい人々に施しなさい。[2]おまえたち自身のために古びる事の無い金袋を用意していなさい。破れる事の無い天に、宝箱を用意しなさい。そこでは、泥棒が近寄る事も、虫が使い物にならなくすることもない。
36. おまえたちの腰に帯を締めなさい。また、おまえたちの灯かりに火をつけていなさい。
36. そして、おまえたち自身は、自分の主人を待っている人たちのようでありなさい。彼がその結婚式から帰ってくる時に、来てドアをノックする時に、すぐに彼に開けてあげられるように。
37. その主人が帰ってくるときに、見つけられる僕たちは幸いだ。アーメン、私はおまえたちに言う。彼は自分の（彼自身の）腰に帯をして、彼らを席に着かせ、その上、来て彼らに給仕をする。
38. そして、もし彼が二度目に、あるいは三度目に来て彼らがそうしているのを見つけるなら、それらの僕たちは幸いだ。
39. しかし、この事を知っていなさい。もし、その家の主人が何時に泥棒が入ってくるのかを知っているなら、彼は見張っていて、彼の家に押し入られるようなことはしない。
40. だから、おまえたちもまた、用意をしていなさい。なぜなら、おまえたちは人の子が何時来るのかは予期できないからだ。」
41. その時ペテロが彼に言いました。「主よ、あなたはこの譬えを私たちにだけお語りになっているのですか、それとも全ての人にですか？」
42. そこで、主は仰せられました。「それでは忠実で賢い執事は誰であろうか？彼の主人は、彼を時に応じた食事をその家の人々にさせるために、彼らの上に立てるのだが。
43. 幸いなことだ。その僕は。彼の主人が来る時に、そうしているのを見られるなら。
44. アーメン、私はおまえたちに言う。彼はその人に、自分の持ち物を全部管理させる。
45. しかし、もしその僕が心の中で、『私の主人は〔帰って〕来るのが遅い。』と言い、（そして）男と女の僕たちを叩き始め、そして、食べて飲み、また酔うならば、
46. その僕の主人は、彼が〔彼の帰宅を〕予想していなかった日に、また、彼が気がついていない時に帰って来る。それから、彼を二つに切り捨て、そして彼の分を、不信者と一緒にするようにと指図する。」
Luk 12:2 For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, nor anything hidden that shall not be known.
Luk 12:3 Therefore whatever you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light. And that which you have spoken in the ear in secret rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.
Luk 12:4 And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Luk 12:5 But I will warn you of whom you shall fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yea, I say to you, fear Him.
Luk 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria? And not one of them is forgotten before God.
Luk 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore do not fear, you are of more value than many sparrows.
Luk 12:8 Also I say to you, Whoever shall confess Me before men, the Son of Man also shall confess him before the angels of God.
Luk 12:9 But he who denies Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
Luk 12:10 And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him. But to him who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven.
Luk 12:11 And when they bring you into the synagogues, and to rulers and authorities, take no thought as to how or what thing you shall answer, or what you shall say.
Luk 12:12 For the Holy Spirit shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say.
Luk 12:13 And one of the company said to Him, Master, speak to my brother to divide the inheritance with me.
Luk 12:14 And He said to him, Man, who made Me a judge or a divider over you?
Luk 12:15 And He said to them, Watch and keep yourselves from covetousness. For a man's life is not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
Luk 12:16 And He spoke a parable to them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully.
Luk 12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room in which to store my fruits?
Luk 12:18 And he said, I will do this. I will pull down my barns and build bigger ones, and I will store all my fruits and my goods there.
Luk 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat drink and be merry.
Luk 12:20 But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul shall be required of you, then whose shall be those things which you have prepared?
Luk 12:21 So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.
Luk 12:22 And He said to His disciples, Therefore I say to you, Be not anxious as to your life, what you shall eat; nor for the body, what you shall put on.
Luk 12:23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
Luk 12:24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap, having neither storehouse nor barn, and God feeds them. How much more are you better than the birds?
Luk 12:25 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his stature?
Luk 12:26 If then you are not able to do even the least, why are you anxious about the rest?
Luk 12:27 Consider the lilies, how they grow; they do not toil, they do not spin. And yet I say to you that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Luk 12:28 If then God so clothes the grass (which today is in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven) how much more will He clothe you, O little-faiths?
Luk 12:29 And do not seek what you shall eat, nor what you shall drink, and stop being in anxiety.
Luk 12:30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you have need of these things.
Luk 12:31 But rather seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
Luk 12:32 Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luk 12:33 Sell what you have and give alms. Make for yourselves purses which do not become old, an unfailing treasure in Heaven, where no thief comes nor moth corrupts.
Luk 12:34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Luk 12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning.
Luk 12:36 And you yourselves be like men who wait for their lord, whenever he shall return from the wedding, so that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately.
Luk 12:37 Blessed are those servants whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Truly I say to you that he shall gird himself and make them recline; and coming up he will serve them.
Luk 12:38 And if he comes in the second watch, or comes in the third watch, and find it so, blessed are those servants.
Luk 12:39 And know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and would not have allowed his house to be dug through.
Luk 12:40 Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man comes at an hour when you think not.
Luk 12:41 And Peter said to Him, Lord, do You speak this parable to us or also to all?
Luk 12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward whom his lord shall set over his houseservants, to give them their portion of food in season?
Luk 12:43 Blessed is that servant when his lord comes and finds him so doing.
Luk 12:44 Truly I say to you that he will set him over all his possessions.
Luk 12:45 But if that servant says in his heart, My lord delays his coming, and shall begin to beat the male servants and women servants, and to eat and drink and to be drunk,
Luk 12:46 the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect, and at an hour when he does not know. And he will cut him apart, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
Luk 12:47 And that servant who knew his lord's will and did not prepare, nor did according to His will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Luk 12:48 But he not knowing, and doing things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For to whomever much is given, of him much shall be required. And to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Luk 12:49 I have come to send fire on the earth. And what will I do if it is already kindled?
Luk 12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how I am pressed down until it is accomplished!
Luk 12:51 Do you suppose that I have come to give peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.
Luk 12:52 For from now on, there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
Luk 12:53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Luk 12:54 And He also said to the crowd, When you see a cloud rise out of the west, immediately you say, There is a shower coming. And so it is.
Luk 12:55 And when you see the south wind blow, you say, There will be heat; and it occurs.
Luk 12:56 Hypocrites! You know to discern the face of the heaven and the earth, but how is it that you do not discern this time?
Luk 12:57 And why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?
Luk 12:58 For as you go with your adversary to the judge, give pains in the way to be set free from him, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer cast you into the prison.
Luk 12:59 I tell you, you shall not depart from there until you have paid the very last lepton.
